Chris BookerCelebrity Poker with Chris Line

"Booker" is his name!

Alright Celebrity junkies...it's time to switch it up a bit. Normally we're talking to actors and rock stars about poker but this time we're talking to the celebrity who meets them on the red carpet, backstage, or on the set of ET or The TV Guide Channel and gets them to spill THEIR guts to YOU! Chris Booker has been a staple in the "Radio and TV" world for a long time and his track record shows! His face and his voice is everywhere and Dick Clark should be afraid...be very afraid!

MTV, MTV2, Entertainment Tonight, VH1, K-Rock Radio in NYC, and Pundit are some of the amazing companies Booker has impressed with his skills! He is currently an Entertainment Reporter for The TV Guide Channel and the morning show host at world famous
Q102, "Philly's Number One Hit Music Station"! In between doing his thing, he's gotten the chance to bang chips with some of his closest buddies including Ben Affleck and shock jock Howard Stern! I had a chance to talk to Booker from his pad in Philly about what is rockin' on his side of the poker world.

Celebrities & ChrisWhere do we have the pleasure of talking to you from?
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!

Do you have a card room you call home?
I am a Borgata man. I love the new poker room there. That place gets better every time I go. Home run!

What celebrities have you banged chips with?
Affleck, Damon, J. Lo, Bruce Willis, who is the great female player? Annie? She was in a room one night that I played in. Her brother is great too! Shit, can't remember her name but she was raking. (Howard) Stern too. Mike Myers.

Chris BookerAnnie Duke?
Yes, that's her!

Am I invited to any future home games?
I don't play too often at home. I hate dealing. I can't concentrate on my cards and my game at the same time. Home games are for after hours and those are never serious games.

What type of games do you play?
Hold'em only. I really respect the players that can play many different games well. I am a novice so I only want to focus on one game at a time. I will play the others but never seriously. Black Jack keeps me busy.

When is your next trip to Vegas?
You don't plan Vegas, you just go.

What's your poison when you are there whether it's clubs, casinos, venues, strip clubs baby?
Jack, H2o back, bettin on black, and the double down!

Have you played any WPT or WSOP events or will you?
Nope. I have a fear of being killed early. I still have too many tells. I blame the Jack. I can't play and NOT drink.

Do you play online and where?
888 is a good room. I practice on my Cingular phone but I don't know what room that is?

Chris BookerAre you for or against celebrities getting into poker all of a sudden?
What! Celebs can't have fun? Come on, what is better than saying I Took ________ out of a table! Go for it.

Any pro's come to mind that you like or dislike?
Phil HellMOUTH! He is a God. I love his game. He never shuts the f&*k up. Awesome! I hate the boring f#@&ers that just look down at the table. I like when Chan stands up. Moneymaker can't lose with that name! They are very fun to watch.

What style of player are you?
The one that leaves the table very early.

Who is the biggest DONKEY in your life?
I told Howard (Stern) to not pick up his cards and he yelled at me mid game. It was pretty funny. He is so smart though. If he was serious about it, he would be great. I played at a table with Bruce Willis one night. He was getting killed. Seemed like a nice guy though. It didn't bother him, though. Affleck is a great player. I know you want to hate, but he is GREAT!
