Poker News:
UK Students to do BattleBy PokerPagesAlthough the poker phenomenon is perhaps better known on the campuses of the USA, it has taken a firm following at Universities around the UK - with the 2nd UK Student Poker Championship set to be held on April 1st-2nd of this year. The event, to take place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, is ran by the St Andrews Poker Society. Interest has already been keen - all 280 tickets are reported as being sold out, although a final 20 have been put up for grabs online. Last years event, which attracted a field of 259 players, was won by Calum MacNicol of St Andrews. He picked up over £1000 in prize money - but the real prize, aside from the kudos of being crowned UK Student Poker Champion, was an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas and a $10k buy in to the WSOP main event. Unfortunately MacNicol couldn't repeat his winning success at the WSOP and walk away with the bracelet and pokers richest prize.
