WPT Prize Bigger Than EverBy PokerPagesThe WPT World Championship - buy in $25k - looks set to be bigger and better than ever this year as the number of entrants, and hence the prize pool, has increased over recent years. Just as the WSOP is now attracting record fields, the WPT is doing the same. The event, which attracts many of the top proffessional players from across the globe, is to be held at the Bellagio in Vegas between April 18-24 this year. It's not only the top flight pro players who are getting in on the action though - satellite events offered by a number of B&M casinos and online cardrooms have swelled the numbers even further. Current estimates from a number of sources have predicted a total prize pool of $13-$15 million - with the top 100 places being paid, and approximately $3million + going to the victor. Last years winner, Tuan Lee, picked up $2,856,150 for the victory. Previous events in this years World Poker Tour have seen many of the events feature a much higher turnout and larger pools than last seasons events. The WPT Championship is poised to repeat this pattern in what should be an excellent tournament with a large prize pool. It's anyones game at the moment, and there is everything to play for.
