Wharton Course for Gaming ExecsBy PokerPages
The prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has partnered with industry experts to develop an education program especially for gaming executives. The Wharton Program for Gaming Executives will run February 18-23, 2007 at Wharton Executive Education (the continuing education branch of Wharton) at its home campus in Philadelphia. The program, featuring Wharton faculty, takes the core concepts of business and applies them to the specific challenges of the gaming industry. It offers perspectives and frameworks in leadership, strategy, marketing, operations, finance, and other areas that can be used immediately to manage casinos and other gaming enterprises more effectively and profitably. Cory Morowitz has been appointed Industry Director of the program. He is chairman of New Jersey-based industry consultants Morowitz Gaming Advisors, LLC and accounting firm Morowitz & Co. He also happens to be a 1996 Wharton alumnus. The program is being developed jointly by Wharton Executive Education and Morowitz Gaming Advisors. Information about the program is available from Dara Chamides at 215-898-9768 (chamided@wharton.upenn.edu); and from Morowitz at 609-652-6472 (cory@morowitzgaming.com and http://www.morowitzgaming.com).
