Home PokerDraw Poker Draw Poker is one of the categories of home poker games. In Draw Poker, each player is dealt a number of cards, followed by a betting round, followed by a "draw". The draw allows each player to exchange a number of their cards for new cards from the deck, in the hope of improving the player's hand. For example, a player who has three of five cards that aren't helping their overall hand discards those three cards and is dealt three new cards from the deck (called "blind cards", because a player does not know what they will be). The dealer may designate "one draw of three cards", which means after the first betting round, each player is allowed to exchange up to three cards from their hand for the same number of brand new cards from the deck. This is the basic principle, but specifics are left to the dealer. For example, the dealer determines how many cards each player can exchange on the draw, as well as how many draws will be allowed to each player (usually no more than three). Typically, the cards are dealt (usually five cards), followed by a betting round, followed by the draw, followed by a final betting round. Draw Poker games can be "straight," meaning that there are no wild cards, or the dealer can call wild cards. For example, if the dealer calls "Deuces Wild," and you're dealt a two, you can play it as any card you need to fill a hand.
