Home poker is a unique game, combining the concept of card-playing for money with a friendly spirit, low profit, and a collection of different game formats and variations. Some of these variations stray so far off that the only criteria seems to be that there be cards involved and a sum of money on the line.

Home Poker places less emphasis on making money and is more of a social game. Although the hardcore Vegas-types disagree, the gambling element of Home Poker is still very high. The amount of money is not the same, but Home Poker is still a game where a dollar is a bluff.
