Mark's Page
I wanted to have my own page firstly to introduce myself, and secondly to fully explain the love and determination behind the making of this unique website dedicated to all the people in poker: the players, the dealers and all of those people behind the scenes whose untiring efforts go into making playing poker a memorable and pleasurable experience. The purpose of PokerPages is to keep people informed of what is happening in the poker world. There are currently several good websites relating to poker, but our vision is to develop a one-stop website covering everything regarding poker. Not only do we have the most comprehensive worldwide directory of poker establishments along with their live cash games, weekly tournaments, and special events, but we also list the schedules as far in advance as possible to give you time to plan your poker-playing trips. You may also be surprised to discover your name listed in the results section. It is our opinion that no matter how big or small the prize money, every winner deserves a mention. This website is a platform for you, the poker player, to be heard. We have the facility to publish photographs, stories, jokes, and whatever you may want to contribute. Please be assured we read all emails we receive. PokerPages will feature new articles on a regular basis, as well as poker quizes, crossword puzzles and a unique section totally dedicated to women in poker, and many other services to offer in the future. We aim to promote the "old fashioned" game of poker, a game played face-to-face with cards and a table, and to try to bring new blood into the game. I also feel that poker does not get the attention that it deserves in comparison to other sports and pastimes. For example, we compete for more prize money at the World Series of Poker than most sportsmen and women in almost any other sport. This year, if over 450 people participate in the WSOP, the first prize in the main event will probably be $1,500,000. The winner of the U.S. Masters only wins about one third of that amount. It is our ultimate goal to become major sponsors to the poker tournament circuit, in particular to promote Ladies Tournaments. We hope that this would bring other corporate sponsors into the game and therefore give poker the recognition that it so deserves and has been a long time in coming. Once again I must thank you for visiting Poker Pages and hope that you will pass on the good message to everyone you know. We're here for you, and your support will insure that we can continue to provide you with current and valuable information.
Be Lucky,
