Poker Reporters Biographies
Mike Paulle - Poker Reporter
More than a decade ago, Mike Paulle left a successful cosmetics business in New York to seek his fortune as a poker player in Las Vegas. At the urging of his friend, award-winning author Janet Berliner, he took up writing about poker tournaments. Since then he has become the Herb Caen of poker, a writer whose curmudgeonly humor has earned him thousands of loyal readers for his PokerPages.com blog and tournament reports.
As a former professional basketball player, Mike knows the world of high-level competition. He is personally acquainted with almost every major poker tournament professional. His writing shows his unique perspective on the world of poker as it has emerged from the shadows of disrepute into the glare of mainstream media. Mike wrote official tournament reports for Card Player Magazine, including the World Series of Poker cover stories from 1998 until 2002. During that same period Mike was Media Director for the United States Poker Championship at Trump Taj Mahal (1998) and Media Director for poker tournaments at Binion's Horseshoe (2001-2002), where he handled all media contacts for the World Series of Poker (2001-2002) and The Hall Of Fame Tournament (2002). In 1999, Paulle paid for his entry into the inaugural Tournament of Champions of Poker by selling a limited edition collectors' report about the tournament, to be written as he played. His investors recouped their investment not only with their signed and numbered copies of his report, but also from the $5,000 cash he won on the first hand when he turned a royal flush. Now Mike writes a daily column for PokerPages.com, the number one poker news site in the world with 50,000 hits a day.

My name is Rolf Slotboom. I was born in Amsterdam August 23rd, 1973. After having studied Politics and Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam, I started working as a dealer in Concord's poker casinos in Vienna and Amsterdam. I became a professional money player in 1998, starting with low- and middle-limit hold'em, and gradually moved up to the big pot-limit Omaha live games. I have been a regular columnist for Poker Digest magazine for two years, writing my strategy column "Ace Speaks" and later the interview series "Pocket Aces". I occasionally contribute to various websites such as PokerPages, ISA, PokerInEurope and Poker Network. I was chosen for the Dutch national poker team, sponsored by the Master Classics of Poker, to compete for the European Championship for Nations in St. Petersburg and I am the creator of the brand new tournament game "Potnopine Hold'em", which was introduced in Vienna July 2001.
