WSOP Event # 2 NLH $1,500 Final

Sun, 5 Jun 2005 02:10:22 -0500
Allen Cunningham wins 3rd WSOP bracelet

This has been quite an evening ladies and gents. The field was amazing and the play equal. Having a woman make it to the final was exciting and getting to watch these poker greats go into hand to hand combat was utterly a poker players dream. I hope I brought you a vision of the day, until tomorrow for the $1500 Limit final, I bid you good night and a wonderful day.

1st Allen Cunningham (Ventura, CA, USA) $725,405
2nd Scott Fischman (Las Vegas, NV, USA) $352,125
3rd Dave Ulliott (Hull, United Kingdom) $232,205
4th Can Kim Hua (Rosemead, CA, USA) $200,395
5th Liz Lieu (Los Angeles, CA, USA) $168,590
6th Charlie Huff $136,780

9th Richard Boutwell (Duluth, GA, USA) $54,075

Allen Cunningham wins bracelet # 3

10:50
Scott checks the bb. T 6 3 on the flop. Scott bets and Allen raises. Scott calls. The turn is the 4d. Scott checks to Allen, and Allen bets 250,000 followed by Scott moving all in. Now Allen is between a rock and a hard place. He answers with a call and a push of his chips. Scott has a pair of fours and open end straight draw. Allen has 36 for two pair. The river comes an A and Allen takes home the bacon. For first place he makes $725,405 and Scott brings in a 2nd and $352,125. Well played.

10:45
They have moved the money onto the table. Jeepers, each stack is $10,000 and the stacks are just everywhere. Millions of dollars, American. Mmmm....When I grow up I want to do this thing they call tournament poker. Or, I want to be in my 20's again. Either would work for me. No fair they get both!

10:37

Heads up now. Looks like Allen has about 2.2 million to Scott's 1.26 million. The players have had the 7th inning stretch and we are getting ready for the heads up confrontation. This is where the rubber hits the road folks. Scott is dying to win this back to back. His Mom and Dad are sitting right in front of me and it is so much fun to see them root young Scott on. Allen has a huge fan base here too, so, whichever way it goes, the room is going to virtually explode with cheering.

10:28

Allen and Devilfish are all in. Dave has ThJh and Allen 8d8c. THe flop is 6h 3d 4h. The turn brings the Ad. The River is Devilfishes only hope, but the river washes him away bringing a K. He wins 3rd for $232,205. Well done Sir Devilfish!

10:22 From here on out, the blind stealing and such will be assumed until I give you a "real" hand.

Heads up between Allen and Scott for 90K. Flop is Qd Qh 6c. Allen bets 100K. Scott raises to 250K. Allen is reaching for chips and calls. The turn is 5c. Allen and Scott both check. The Tc comes on the river, Allen checks and Scott bets 300K on the end. You can tell Allen is thinking, oh deary, Allen lets it go and Scott makes a huge huge kill.

DAve is all in after Scott only calls the bb. Dave takes it down.

Allen has over 2 million in chips. A 2 3 on Flop with a 2 on the trurn and a 7 on the river brings little or no action between Scott and Allen. Allen checks and Scott bets. Scott shows a 47 and wins on the river. Allen mucks.

Allen has the button, Scott sb and Devilfish bb. Scott raises to 75K and picks up yet more blinds and antes.

9:49
Dave Ulliott has one bracelet and I am certain chomping at the bit to collect another. It wont be an easy task, but, knowing this man, it could happen. Do not count him out by a long shot. Allen is ahead and holding well over half the chips from the tournament. At a young age of 28, Allen already owns two WSOP bracelets and is a very versatile and stealthy player, as proved by all his money finishes. It is now time to find out which of these men will add the coveted bracelet to the collection already started.

9:42
With the three remaining players, Allen Cunningham, Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott and Scott Fischman, this wont only be a game of poker but truly what poker players worldwide might agree will be hand to hand combat and a battle of 3 great poker minds. Scott is battling with an army of chips amounting to 680K. Dave is coming to his crusade with 845K and Allen rules the roost with 1,945,000. Scott is short, but coming to the table as the reigning champion from the 2004 WSOP $1500 NLHE event, it "aint over til the fat lady sings".

9:37
Can raises and Allen calls. 9 3 J appears and Can moves all in. Allen is with him. Q T vs K J. Flop is Q J 9 with turn of a 2 and the river, 9. Can Hua checks out of the game with a 4th place win and $200,395.

9:31
And then there were four. Four of the best. Go gettem boys... Allen makes it 75K to play from UTG. Devilfish makes it an all in move and Allen obliges. Devilfish has 88 and Allen 66. It comes down to this..
Flop 7 J J
Turn 9
River 2 and Devilfish doubles right on up.

9:29
Liz is all in against Scott. Scott holds the Ks 6h and Liz the 6c 9s. The flop comes 5 2 2, the turn a Q and the river a 7 to take Liz out in 5th place making her a cool $168,690. You did the girls proud Liz!

9:26
Allen raises to 75K. Liz had to fold, so, I guess she didnt have the joker.

9:22
Devilfish holding the button, literally. Liz, UTG fires out 80K to play. Can moves all in. The two short stacks are after one another. He counts his chips down and she takes another peek at her cards before she acts. Interesting that she is NOT giving Can the hard stare. She calls. She shows As 9c and Can has Jd Jh. Here we go. Flop on the way. 5c T 3. Liz needs an ace or running clubs. The turn card is a 6h, the river is a 4 and Can Kim Hua doubles up and cripples Liz.

9:20
Lets start this time with the button on Mr. Fischman. We are at 15/30K with the ante at 5K. Liz raised to 90K and everyone else dislikes their cards, so, the pot is all hers.

9:15 Post dinner chip count before the battle ensues.

Scott 652,000
Devilfish 411,000
Allen 1,825,000
Can 262,000
Liz 279,000

7:50
This is the last hand at this limit and then we head off for a dinner break of one hour fifteen minutes. The button is on Liz with the blinds on Scott and Dave U. The money goes to Dave and we are good to go for dinner.

7:45
Devilfish pushes it to 70K from the cutoff and takes it down. Little by little the devil is in the house. Scott and Liz are heads up. Qd Ac 5d fall on the flop. Liz makes a bet of 60K and Scott contemplates his options. He lets it go this time and she adds to her count.

7:43
Looks like Allen is moving closer to the 2 million mark and everyone else is dwindling. The button is on Devilfish, he raises and picks up the blinds and antes. Snort. I should just cut and paste that line, it would keep me from getting arthritic.

7:35
John Grooms just did his famous "favorite player" applause request and it was hands down for LIZ. Usually the dealer wins. :) Back the the blinds vs blinds show. I bet Allen steps it up a notch as far as aggressivness goes. Just a hunch. 56K a round now. Chump change eh? Allen and Liz shall see a flop together. The flop is 9 5 3. Allen checks as does Liz. The turn is the Jd. Allen grabs a chunk of 5K blue chips and bets them. Looks like about 80K. Oh what to do....She is going for the blue...and she not only calls, she raises to 170K. Wooohoooo.....Allen thinks, oops. Or not. No. He moves all in on her. Ewww... tight spot for her. She lost a bunch as she tossed her cards to the muck. Seems position and size does matter!

7:30
With 5 players left, it is possible we will be taking a dinner break soon. Just a quick chip count

Scott 790,000
Devilfish 310,000
Allen 1,500,000
Can 190,000
Liz 519,000

7:25
Charlie Huff is UTG. He raised to 100K. Scott moves all in and Charlie calls him. Charlie has As5s and Scott has Ad Kc. The flop is Qc 7s 2d. Here comes the turn, a 4h. Charlie has only 3 outs. The Tc comes and drops Charlie from the mix. He gave it a hell of a run. He takes home 6th and $136,780. Very well played Huff Daddy!

7:20
Heads up between Scott and Liz. KT5 on flop. (blinds at it again) Check check, turn is the 2c. Liz pulls some chips off her stack and makes a bet of 60K. Scott folds and this time Liz takes the pot.

Scott 600,000
Devilfish 380,000
Allen 1,5100,000
Charlie 196,000
Can 320,000
Liz 415,000

7:16
Charlie Huff found his all in hand. He is the button. He made it 80K more to go and Liz calls. Liz has Js 7s and Charlie has the Ah Jh. The flop is coming, ......3 5 6. The turn is a 9 giving Liz a draw to a double gut shot straight. The river is a Q and doubled Charlie back into it...again.

7:14
Dave has the button. So, I guess it will be a battle between Allen and Charlie since they are the blinds. Actually, Dave raises and takes the blinds away from their owners.

7:12
Dave "Devilfish"
Ulliott says that TV has made "us" all famous and has made him a lot of money. He feels poker has never been better. Well, yeah.... K J T on flop take Allen and Devil to the turn. The 5d on the turn causes Devilfish to bet and Allen lets it go.

7:10
Devilfish and Scott play heads up. As Jc 8c. Check check. Js on turn. Both check. River is 7c. Scott checks and so does Devilfish. Devilfish takes it down with an 83 against Scotts TQ.

7:00
Allen raises and wins the blinds and antes. Allen says he think that poker will always be here and that he will always play it. Here here Allen. Now Liz and Scott are heads up. The flop is A K Q. Liz checks and Scott bets 45K. She doenst really hesitate and makes the call. The 4s falls on the turn. Scott bets 125K and now Liz is in a quandry. She gives it up and ships Scott the pot.

7:03
Scott and Can get into a little skirmish. Scott raises and Can reraises making it pretty spendy for Scott. Scott gives it up losing his 60K raise to Can.

7:01
Can now raises UTG making it 65K to play. Allen moves all in and Can gives it up to the BMOC. (for those of you not nearly as old as me, that means Big Man On Campus).

6:59
Seems 95 abound, and win too! Liz raises to 50K. No one wants to play with her, so the blinds and antes go her way.

6:56
Liz is the button following that bb/lb confrontation. With Scott limping, Devilfish raises the pot 60K. Scott re-raises making it 200K to go. Devilfish has to let his 95 go and then, Scott shows his 95. Goodness gracious alive.

6:53
Liz is a full time poker pro. At a tender age of 30, she has been playing since 18. Scott and Liz are heads up again. The flop comes comes As 2s 5d and Liz bets followed by a call by Scott. Another 2 on the turn. The turn is checked and the river is a 4. Check check. 95 for Liz and Scott dumps his hand. ???????????

6:48
Charlie is in construction as a boilermaker. He is going to remain an amateur poker player but continue to play no limit tournaments. At this rate, there is no limit Charlie. With the button, he has a purchase opportunity to take chips from Can and Liz. Before that can happen, Scott raises to 60K and he has to fold. Liz is the only one left to act and she is looking pretty much like it is going to happen. Yes, she calls. The flop arrives with a Js Ks 9d. Liz has to act first. She checks and Scott bets 200K. She gives it to him. She has dropped a few chips since we got back from the break. Not sure what her count is right now.

6:45
Can makes it 75 to go and Liz reraises to a 185K total bet. Now she has Can on the ropes. He folds and allows her to take this one down.

6:43
Ha ha, Allen has to do some fancy moves just to get his cards around his big old stacks of chips. Now Liz has made it 60K to play and Allen is all in. He is really putting the pressure on her. She has to fold again, and Allen absorbs just a few more of her chips.

6:40
Now it is Devilfish and Allen. The flop is 5s 5c Qh. Devilfish has shoved all in and Allen passes the pot on over.

6:36
Liz and Allen are at it again. AK5 with two diamonds makes the flop. Allen bets 90K and Liz, who had checked, stares da boy down. She must have found something that told her to fold.

6:34
Liz has raised to 70K UTG. The action is back around to the blinds. Charlie dumps his hand as does Can.

6:32
A quick update on chip count:

Scott 545,000
Devilfish 200,000
Allen 1,4100,000
Charlie 220,000
Can 5130,000
Liz 565,000

6:26
Scott is the button, An has called from the cutoff, Devilfish has folded and Allen goes all in. Allen has two red jacks and An, who called, has two black eights. An is all in, and the flop comes K2A with two diamonds. The turn is a 2h and An is down to two eights. The river is the 9h and takes An out in 7th. He makes $104,970 for todays work. He adds to his 36 other final table wins. An "the boss" Tran has placed 5 times in the $10,000 main event for the WSOP. Quite a fete. Congrats An.

6:20
Charlie Huff is all in, and An Tran has called. Charlie has K J offsuit and An a Kh 9d. The flop is 7d 8h Jh. The turn is an Ace and the river a 6s.It kept Charlie alive and well and doubled him up, once again.

6:15
BACK

The antes are now 4K and the blinds are 12K/24K. A new chip count:

Scott 591,000
Devilfish 240,000
Allen 1,100,000
Charlie 114,000
Can 530,000
Liz 596,000
An 290,000

15 minute break

5:53
Unfortunately for Charlie, Scott raised to 55K and he could not call from the sb. He has the button now, but, once again, things are tenuous at best. It is time again for the midwesterner to catch some cards. Allen raises to 55K and gets a jingle from Liz. Heads up. Flop is Tc 3h Qc. Both check. Turn is the 2h. Both check. The river is the 5h. Hope she doesnt get burned again. They both check. Liz shows 56 and wins the pot.

5:48
Devilfish picked up the blinds and antes for the second time while sitting in the bb. Not too shabby. An has raised the pot to 55K and wins the.....blinds and antes. Charlie Huff's stack is looking kinda small again. He is the bb, so, we will see if he scoots by uncontested again. NOPE> Allen moves all in and takes the bb this time.

5:45
An Tran has raised from UTG to 60K. Around to Can it goes and he makes it 160K to go. An, while munching on an unlit ciggy, decides the outcome of this hand by folding. Can turns AA and shows An. Can is the pocket Ace king today. I think that is about 3 we have gotten a look at from him.

5:43
Allen gets the button this time. Charlie is sb and Can bb. Liz is UTG and passes. So does An but Devil moves all in. He picks up the, yes, you guessed it, blinds and antes.

5:36
With 7 left, the button falls on Scott, the little blind on Devilfish, who is sitting here next to the pretty dealer chatting her up. He is about 8 inches away from me and I see his stripes in his suit are gold. Cool. Oops, he just jumped up to tried and get to the table, but missed. He now has the button and is ready to rock and roll. Charlie has the bb and Allen the sb. Scott raises and Mr Fish and Liz call. The flop comes Q Q 9 followed by the 4, two clubs. Liz and Scott check and Devil bets 70K. IT is up to Liz to act. She raises the 70K bet to 140K. Scott promptly folds and Devilfish gives it up too, giving Liz a fair sized pot.

5:32
Randy is all in. Allen calls. Allen has Ad Th and Randy 9s 9d. The crowd goes wild. The flop unfolds. As Qc Js. Trouble for the coach. Needing a 9 really badly. The turn is a Tc giving him more outs but giving Allen two pair. The river is a 2h taking Randy home with $73,160. Nice work Randy.

5:25
OK. Can has the button, Liz lb and An bb. Allen Cunningham has just topped the million chip mark. Charlie Huff is all in with the B Liz. Everyone folds and Charlie picks up the blinds and antes. New count for you.

Scott 530,000
Devilfish 360,000
Allen 1,025,000
Charlie 162,000
Randy 119,000
Can 416,000
Liz 420,000
An 409,000

5:20
Devil raises to 70K and imagine this, there was an all in from Allen and Devilfish folds. Goodness, thought we were onto something here...but, not yet. OK. Charlie on the button. Liz has made it 70 to go. Allen is calling making it heads up as everyone else gets out of this one. The flop is 5h 3c Ts. Liz checks and Allen bets 105K. Liz is contemplating the bet. She asks Allen how much do you have Allen? He counts it down and she then calls. She is staring Allen down big time. The turn is the 8c. Liz checks with Allen following. The river is the Kd. Liz checks and Allen checks. Liz shows 66 and Allen shows AK winning this one on the river. In poker?? A winner on the river??? Surely not!

5:18
Charlie is bb, Allen lb and Devilfish the B. Can raises and takes the pot. I am beginning to see a definite pattern here. No one wants to be 8th.

5:15
I would guess we have played about 75 to 80 or so hands now and we are only down to 8. Hmm......I forgot to bring my jammies for this final table. Should be something to think about from now on I reckon. Or at least a seat cushion.

5:12
An not only got that pot, he has the button now too. It is costing about 54K to make a round right now. This table is squeaky squeaky squeaky. Liz makes it 60K to go one behind the button. David calls from the bb. Heads up. Flop is As 2d 9h. Both check. Turn is 9s. Devilfish checks, and Liz bets, taking the pot.

5:10
Liz holds the button. An sb and Scott bb. Dave UTG. It is folded around to An. He limps in. Scott checks. The flop comes As Jd Tc. Check check. Turn is another T. The river is an 8h, after they both checked. An bets and Scott declines to play.

5:07
Charlie Huff is all in two behind the button for 159K. Liz is small blind and
opts to pass. An Tran follows suit giving Charlie the blinds and antes. Heeeeeeeee's baaaaaaaaaack!!!

5:05
An and Liz are heads up. An UTG and Liz bb. The flop is 2 3 9 rainbow. An bets 25K and Liz gives up.

5:02
Button on "huffdaddy". Scott raises to 55K. Randy and Can on blinds. Scott takes it down.

4:57
An gets the button. Allen makes it 55K to play. It is folded around and he picks it up. Now the B is on Scott. Allen gets his blinds paid for. Sweet. Charlie is UTG. He needs an answered prayer here. If not, I fear that his time is short. He is such a nice man. Well, actually, they all are, well, except for Liz....OK. the big blind is on Charlie. CPR is in order for his stack now. Something will have to shake out for him this hand. So far so good, Everyone folds. It is up to the little blind, Allen Cunningham. He too folds and Charlie found a golden goose.

4:55
Button on Liz. I hope Charlie can catch a hand here. He is melting. He has been playing for only 2 years and said he had NO IDEA he would make the money, much less the final table. He has a family in Geneva Ohio and I know they must just be beside themselves knowing how well he has done here these past 3 days.

4:54
Liz has increased her chip count to 540K. Seems like she is pulling a "yesterday". Life is pretty good for her right this minute.

4:51
Folks, we are now over 2 hours into this. Hunker down, this could be a long one. Randy has the button. Liz is the bb, Can small. Liz calls a raise from Randy. The flop is Ts 6c 4h. Liz bets and wins the pot.

4:45
The button is Charlie's gift. He has a little life. Looks like he has enough for about 4 blinds. An makes it 70K to go. So, now, Allen Cunningham has raised 140K, Charlie answers with an all in, An has just moved all in. Allen has called. All 3 men have AK. Will there be a flush to be had? Charlie has AsKh, Allen Ac Ks, and Tran Ah Kd. The flop is A Q 2 rainbow. 5s makes it a 3 way split, with each getting his earned amount.

4:35
I have to say that Dave Ulliott looks so good. He is in a beautiful pinstripe suit, decked out in his jewelry and sippin' a cold corona. Pure class baby. Liz picks up the blinds and antes with another raise. The button is now on Allen with Charlie (aka "HuffDaddy") and Randy blinds. Liz raises to 65K and An Tran gives her a go by calling. Charlie Huff moves all in causing Randy to fold and Liz to make a decision. Her eyes are darting around the table as she makes her choice. It was a 192K reraise. This would take her to the felt. Was her raise real? She is whipsawed now with An Tran still left to act. Charlie looks like a statue. Not even an eyelash is moving. She waits. She thinks. She calls. The question now is whether An wants any part of this. This is the biggest pot so far. He folds. Charlie has 4h 4c and Liz has Js Jc. She is all over Charlie. The flop brings Ac Kd 7d. Two chances to find a 4. The turn is another 7. Drum roll......and the river is.....a 5d leaving Charlie just enough to hang for a few more hands. Liz has now doubled up and is breathing easier.

4:33
Scott has the power button. Liz is all in, Scott and Devilfish fold followed by the bb, Allen Cunningham.

4:30
With the button moved to An Tran, the blinds sit squarely on Scott and Devilfish. Phil H is making his rounds shaking everyone's hands. Disruption city. Back to play. It is folded to Liz who raises to 60K to go. Devilfish calls. The flop brings 5h 5s 2s. Both check. 9d on turn. Both check. The river is the big ole Ah. The Fish checks and Liz checks. Devilfish shows the 5d6d and didnt quite get a trap, but pulled down the pot.

4:28
The button sits in front of Liz and Devilfish raises making it 60K to go. He takes the everpresent blinds and antes.

4:27
An Tran takes the first hand by scooping the antes and blinds. The blinds are now 10K/20K and ante at 3K.

4:25
We are ready to go. Post break chip count:
Scott 587,000
Devilfish 217,000
Allen 680,000
Charlie 383,000
Randy 334,000
Can 375,000
Liz 211,000
An 449,000

4:05
Randy has raised from the small blind to 100K more putting some pressure on Can and on Scott who had limped in. They both respect him and let him take it down. We are on a 15 minute break.

3:59

Now the button is on Allen. The bb is Randy with Charlie in sb. Looks like Can has raised to 40K and Liz makes her move calling "all in". Can sighs and asks for a count of Liz's chips (although we just had them). He is doing some math. It is 94K to go if he chooses. So, he chooses. He chooses to let her have it.

With the button moved around to Dave U and the blinds on Allen and Charlie, An raises and takes the pot.

3:54
Button move. Liz has the power. Will she use it? She will have to buy off An Tran and Scott Fischman, which might be a tough one. Can raises to 50K, so she tosses her cards along with An and Scott. A new chip count is available.

Scott 690,000
Devilfish 160,000
Allen 682,000
Charlie 417,000
Randy 250,000
Can 390,000
Liz 147,000
An 462,000

3:52
With the button on Can, Liz is the small and An the big. Scott UTG. Scott calls and Can moves all in. Liz folds as does Scott.

3:49
Coach Edmunson has the button this trip around. Liz and Can are in this one together this time. Can checks and Liz bets 20K. Can raises to 65 to play. Liz gives it up this time and decides to wait for another juicy hand.

3:47
We have quite the gallery here now. Not only is the room totally filled with players and spectators, the main table is getting quite a lot of coverage and attention. Devilfish has raised to make it 45K to go, two behind the button. No one opted to give him a call.

3:45
Dave U raises from the cutoff. Charlie Huff moves all in and Devilfish folds giving Charlie the pot. Dave wanted overs....

3:44
With the button on Mr. Bling Bling himself, we shall see if Devilfish takes advantage of position. Liz raises to 45K and she takes the blinds and antes to her side of the court.

3:42
Moving right along, Scott is the button man this time. He is raised by Can making it 40K to go. An calls making it these two to play. The flop is 5d 7c 6h. An Tran makes a 60K bet and Can Hua tosses his cards. An shows a couple of tents, making Can happy he folded.

3:40
An holds the button. Scott is small and Mr. Fish the big. Scott limps making it a heads up pot with Devilfish. But nooo... Devilfish raises and Scott gives it up. Dave shows the Ad3d.

3:39
Liz has the button this time. An is the small and Scott the big. Liz raises from the button and scoops the blinds and antes.

3:37
Button is on Can. Devilfish raises to 45K. The chips are shipped to him and on to the next hand.

3:34
We have a 4 way pot. The flop is 8s 4c 2s. Can, Liz, Devilfish and An in this pot. The turn is a 3d, Can bets out and all others fold. Can wins the pot.

3:28
Cunningham raises the pot 45K. With the blinds at 8K and 16K, the pot grows very quickly. He picks up the blinds and antes.

3:23
Devilfish takes his first pot and takes his count higher.

3:18
Edmunson with JJ has raised 75K and Richard Boutman called all in with AQ. THe flop is K37. The turn is 3d and the river a 9h. Richard has become our 9th place winner for $54,075. Richard is from Atlanta, has been playing poker for about 15 years and is in the computer industry.

3:15
Liz picks up her first pot of the day. She made a 65K raise and no one would play with her. Blinds and antes move her direction.

3:08
The WSOP will give over 100 million in cash prizes this year. Amazing. The button belongs to Can again. He has raised from the that position making it 35,000 to play. An Tran calls from the BB. The flop is T 8 3, two hearts. An checks and Can bets 50K. An calls. The turn is the 5s. No bets. The river is a 8c. An shows JT and Can mucked.

3:04
Randy got involved with Can in another hand and was able to add to his chip count once again.

3:02
Unfortunately, there are some technical boogerboos that need to be worked out. The audio of John Grooms is very hard to discern. The white noise from the main room along with announcements are overwhelming. Hopefully they will have this corrected in a matter of a few minutes.

2:59
Randy is all in with AA. He is called by Scott with a Jd 7d. The flop shows 2s 5d 3c. THe turn a Qh which takes Randy to a double up and big smiles from the tons of friends he has in the audience. Randy is a football coach from Columbus Mississippi and is really liked by a bunch of people in this room Ill tell ya.

2:55
With Scott Fischman on the button, Richard Boutwell raises 50K from the cutoff. Scott calls. The flop comes Q 5 4 rainbow. Richard bets 50K and Scott moves all in. Richard folds.

2:50
Seems everyone is slowly coming out of their shell. Mostly the blinds are being taken and that is all. Someone will make a move on the turn and take the blinds. IT wont be long til we find a battle I am certain.

2:45
The cards are aloft. The button is firmly planted in front of seat 7, Can Kim Hua. So far no one has made a move.

2:41
John Grooms is introducing the Rio heavy hitters now and is now onto the players.

2:40
Oh brother. Seems Scott Fischman has upset the applecart. His logo appears to be bigger than allowed. So, it seems there may be yet one more use for duck tape.
2:15
You know the table is actually raised about a foot above the floor. I bet you think I can actually see what is happening dont you? Well, I cant. I have turned my little chair around and am now looking at a great plasma TV and will report to you from that. I might have to get up and move some people, but, I am not afraid. Too bad they didnt have the presence of mind to make the monitor taller than the average man. Who am I to question? I can tell you this, the people standing in front of it make much better doors than they do windows.

2:10
OK.. I have this huge, and I mean huge camera boom hovering over my head. It resembles one of those cranes we see on building sites. Sure hope the ESPN guy knows how to drive this thing. Who can say HEAD INJURY!!!

2:05
Today I will give as many blow by blow plays as my little fingers can pump out. Stay with me, sit back, enjoy the fun and excitement and hold on to your seats as the first bracelet event is about underway.

It is 1:35 and ESPN is making it's final preparations for the $1500 NLHE final table. The room is abuzz with excitement. We have three activities going on at once today, and that is making for quite an experience. The televised final table of event 2 is getting ready to kick off, the Pot Limit Hold'em is winding down to find the final 9 and the Limit Hold'em began at noon. As huge as this room is, and I am going to give it about 6-8 acres in size, it is full to the hilt with poker players, poker dealers, poker widows, poker media, poker parents and poker anything else you can imagine. We are T minus 20 minutes and Ken Lambert is unloading the chip bags now on the final table. When the players finish the night before, they bag the chips up, sign that they are indeed correct so that when they are opened the following day, the game will be accurate. The players will be seated soon and checking these counts.

Richard Boutwell $204,000 - Seat 1

Liz Lieu $177,000 - Seat 8

Liz is a California lady and has a lot of experience in cash play. She has not really been involved in tournament play, so this is her first final table. Having some influential friends in the tournament arena has helped her to hone her game. Eveylyn Ng gave her a few tricks of the trade to help her fly to the final 9. All you men will be happy to know that Liz is a single woman, obviously beautiful and quite apparently bright as can be. Good luck to you Liz in your first attempt at a WSOP bracelet. All the women out here are rooting for you.
