Three Poker Poems
By One-Eyed Jack

The Poker Poet
The best laid plans of mice and men
Fall short of the glory in their zeal to win
NO RESPECT
NO GLORY
NO SMILE TO HOLD
NEVER TO BE REVERD
NEVER TO BE ALONE
Oh GOD I hate to play poker in the twilightzone

All In All In My Cry Goes Out
Realizing immediately that it's a mistake
My opponents have smirks all over their face
There is this feeling of regret in my pit
Mistakes are made I can not change
I can only smile and hope for the best
Pray that things will go well
Reaching out to the poker god's smile
At last the time has come to hold my breath
Things go well as the poker gods bless
If nothing else I'll be here a while
Waiting for the mistakes to catch up in time
I leave the table, now off to the soup line.

Blinds the Fools Call Out
Protecting my blinds the fools call out
I examine his cry with serious doubt
Showdown comes and it's hard to explain
The fool's cards look mighty lame
Obsessed with protection macho man
Compulsive behavior is your plan
Gamble on, take that risk
Gamble on, make them pay
No man will convince you, It's not you day
Your time has come and gone
You missed the opportunity
Your judgement is wrong
You cannot get it through your fat head
The gamble is over
You're all but dead
Go home fool, never ask "Why?"
Go home fool, go home and cry.
