There have been some changes in the lobby: you can now use the drop down boxes to select your type of game.
The method of entering the single tables satellites has been changed: The buy-in money is taken from your account when you join the event, therefore always going off with the full 10 players.
We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by us having to upgrade the server for this new change to be implemented, but we are sure that you will all be much happier with the results.

We are still awarding Poker Dollars, but this time it is a slightly different system. You play in the Fun Play area and your play in the tournaments is calculated and included in a ranking system (20 games per month).
The top 3 players on the ranking system at the end of the month win, 3 months, 2 months, and 1 month respectively in PokerSchool Online.
For more information on the latest Poker Dollars promotion, click here.
If you are already a PokerSchool member, then you can also participate in the Fun Play tournaments. If you win then, the time will be added onto your existing membership.
Old Poker Dollars Program
If you still have Poker Dollars that you have not yet claimed for tournament play in a live casino, don't worry: They are valid for a year. These can be claimed at a casino or cardroom of your choice for a tournament buy in or you can use them for membership time in the PokerSchool.

An Exchange with Todd Tucker about
"I Read Your Article"
By Dr. Mark Burtman
What was my biggest fear? Someone would read my previous contribution "I read your Article" and say "What? He sucks at poker! What's he doing writing articles about poker?" Sure enough it happened. It seems Todd Tucker read my stuff and reached just that same conclusion. Read Todd's response here. So now I get to respond to Todd.
First, let me say that Todd's description of events is quite correct. I did get hit with the deck that day. I had had such terrible luck the preceding three days that I knew I was due for some better luck and I got it. I didn't lose a single hand that went to the river til the final table.
I have never maintained that I won by outplaying the field with a short stack. I doubled up early with my A-K against an A-Q early and I had the largest stack at every table I played. And I played my large stack well, avoiding confrontations with any stack large enough to hurt me, by forcing anyone who called to be willing to go all-in with any hand they chose to play against me. So if anyone came over the top of me, I knew they had a great hand and I got away from it. Todd Tucker himself complimented me on my play of my big stack of chips. I also had people raising into me when I had big hands like A-A, Q-Q, or A-K, which greatly accelerated the growth of my stack. Excuse me for being fortunate...

| Meng La |
The 2nd $1 million dollar guaranteed event during the LA Poker Classic took place at the end of February. There is no secret that a deal was struck by the final 3 players at the table and although Ken Jacobs, Chris Bjorin and Meng La all walked away with a huge chunk of change, Meng was the one that triumphed in the end to also take home the No Limit Hold'em title.
If you want to see some of the top people in poker's opinions on the question of Deal Making, go to the recommended reading on this newsletter and see what Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth, Simon Trumper and many more have to say.
The last event at the Commerce attracted a huge field of players, with 690 paying the $330 buy -in for the final Tournament of the LA Poker Classic (Limit Hold 'em) and Harold Kaufler from Los Angeles took home $95,090. Many congratulations to the staff at The Commerce for pulling off this fantastic event and I am sure an event that will certainly be marked in the diary of most poker players for many years to come as a 'I must attend'. Walt Williams from Augusta, GA took 1st place in the Limit Hold 'em, David Garrison from Robinsonville, MS took 1st place in the Omaha Hi/Lo/ Stud Hi/Lo and Rich Barrett from Thornton, CO won the No Limit Hold 'em.
There was a fantastic turnout for the recent Casino Europa Invitational tournament in Costa Rica. Hundreds of players participated in some 11 hour events with hundreds of $10 rebuys to see the winners walk away with prize money ranging from $ 16,029 - $51,708, Jason Brice won the main event the $500 buy -in No Limit Hold 'em Tournament.
The Bicycle is in the middle of their Winnin' O' the Green tournament and Max Shapiro is doing a fantastic job with the daily reports from all of the events.
Every day there is a guarantee ranging from $15,000 up to $50,000, the tournament ends on March 12th, so still a few days left to get over to The Bike and give it a try.
March 1st saw the start of the very successful Poker Plus Freeroll that was held last year by the Station Casino's. You have to play 50 hours of live poker at any of their locations to secure your spot in the $100,000 Freeroll on May 11th and 12th.
I must apologize to those players in Saskatchewan, as I reported in the last newsletter that the 6th Harvest Poker Classic was taking place on March 5th - 9th. In fact the 6th Station Poker Classic will be happening on those dates but in April.
There is a new buzz on the streets of Vegas and throughout the Poker world as The Bellagio get itself prepared to launch its own schedule of tournaments. It kicks off with a $3,000 buy-in, No Limit Hold'em on April 16th, and the 2nd tournament is a $10,000 No Limit Hold'em event on May 27th which could run for up to 5 days before the winner emerges.
Mike Vento at The Orleans is getting ready to open the New poker room and the whisper is that he is going to try it as a relatively smoke free environment, thus joining the Mirage and The Bellagio who set the scene last year with this move. Well done Mike, Keep up the great work.

Also the Prague Poker Open was unfortunately postponed but I am sure as soon as they can they will add it back into the European poker players calender.
The Vienna Spring Festival with the 6th annual E-WSOP Trail is well under way at The Concord Card Casino. The Super Satellite for the E-WSOP is on the 10th March and this will be your final chance to get your place in the main event which starts on March 11th. This runs for 3 days until the winner is crowned, unless of course you pay your entry fee of 2,000 Euros. They are estimating that the winner could walk away with a cool 100,000 Euros. To find full details of winners so far, click here. This will be the last event in Europe for the month of March as all the focus moves to the UK for the 2 big events in the annual calender.

The Gala Casino in Teeside had a very successful Poker Festival, in February and I. McDonald won the main Limit Texas Hold'em event and took home 23,000 Pounds for a 525.00 buy-in and entry fee.
The next event to look out for is the March in the Midlands from The Grosvenor Casino in Walsall from March 13th - March 17th.
Following this, the players will begin their exodus to The Grosvenor (or Vic as we all know it) for the British Open. This starts on the 18th March and runs until the 27th. You still have time to get in your postal entry by the 11th March, as I am sure that every event will be full to capacity. Then from here it will be a short stroll across the Edgware Road to the Metropole Hotel for the Poker Million.
We will endeavour to keep you all up to date with all of the action as it happens, and of course we would love to print any of the trip reports you submit.
Take care, be safe and of course be lucky
