Erick Lindgren

Erick Lindgren was born on August 11, 1976 in Burney, California. He grew up with two brothers in the small town and played a great deal of basketball, football, and baseball. Though he looked toward a career as a professional athlete, he discovered poker during his days at the local junior college, and his need for competition was met at the poker tables of the local casino. He eventually quit college to play smaller cash games, then worked as a prop player at a casino while working on his online poker game. Lindgren began to put his game to a new test on the live tournament scene in the year 2000, and his first win at a Wild Wild West tournament in San Pablo, California prompted him to play more in the Northern California area. In 2002, he won the Main Event of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas for $228,192, and he soon began traveling more of the tournament circuit. By 2003, he made his first World Poker Tour final table at the Grand Prix de Paris, and several months later, he won the WPT Aruba Poker Classic for $500K. His second WPT victory came in early 2004 on a WPT cruise where he won $1 million. Among his poker accomplishments was his WPT Season 2 Player of the Year award, victory at the 2007 Aussie Millions Main Event, and a stellar 2008 at the World Series of Poker that included his first WSOP bracelet in the $5K limit/no-limit hold’em tournament, third in the $50K HORSE championship, and the WSOP Player of the Year honors. All in all, he has accumulated more than $7.4 million in live tournament earnings and continues to be one of the most respected players in the poker community.
