Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D’Ambrosio was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois and lived a troubled youth after being estranged from his father. But as a young adult, he became an entrepreneur and launched several businesses, including a house painting company, while attending college at Northern Illinois. He then took his profits and invested in residential real estate as well as restaurants and bars. He owned several well-known establishments in the Chicago area. After his sister appeared on the NBC television show The Apprentice L.A., D’Ambrosio used his marketing skills to approach the Bravo Network and garnered an appearance on The Millionaire Matchmaker. Over the course of two seasons, he sought a love interest via the show. Meanwhile, he spent a fair amount of time in Las Vegas and ventured into the world of gambling and professional poker for a time. He traveled to compete in several poker tournaments and has since won more than $120,000 in live events thus far. D’Ambrosio has cashed in the World Series of Poker thus far, most recently at the 2009 World Series of Poker in the heads-up no-limit hold’em tournament where he finished in 30th place. His deepest run in a live event, however, was in the 2008 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, where he played in the Main Event and survived longer than hundreds of players to finish in 22nd place for $48,000.
