Johnny Lodden

Poker pro Johnny Lodden was born and raised in the town of Jorpeland, in Norway. Like most kids, he would often play cards with his family, and quickly caught the buzz you can only get from winning. Uno was his game back then, but by the time Johnny was 15, he had graduated to playing poker for money at school with his friends. Skip forward to age 20 and Johnny had picked up enough experience online at PokerStars to start crushing the cash games, moving up the levels until he reached the highest stakes available. He’d also started to make waves on the live scene, and won his first tournament at the 2004 St Maarten Open, cashing for $26,430 in the $500 No Limit Hold'em event. After a few more years spent finishing in the money at various tournaments around the world, Johnny made his first cash at a PokerStars.com European Poker Tour event in 2006. This was the start of a run of EPT success that would help Johnny become one of the most recognisable faces on the tour - and one of the most feared players in the game. Since then he’s made seven more EPT cash finishes, all in the space of three years, worth a combined total of more than $245,000. This includes a 17th place finish at the Monte Carlo Grand Final in 2008, worth $73,263, and an eighth place finish at Season 5’s Budapest event, good for another $66,577. Johnny also came close to making the final table of the World Series of Poker* Europe Main Event in 2008, eventually finishing in 11th place, taking home $98,756 for his efforts against one of the toughest fields ever assembled in a live tournament. Elsewhere, Johnny has continued to find success in the biggest tournaments online, and is still a regular feature of the high stakes games on PokerStars, where more often than not he leaves the table in profit. Away from poker Johnny is a sports fan, especially soccer and anything else you can have a bet on. He also enjoys travelling the world with friends, looking for the warmest places to relax before playing the next big event. He claims that becoming a member of Team PokerStars Pro means he’s now more focused than ever on winning that elusive first European Poker Tour title, something which surely cant be too far away. Johnny is a member of Team PokerStars Pro and plays online using the screen name ‘johnnylodden’.
