Robert Varkonyi
Born October 7, 1961 in New York, Robert Varkonyi is an investment banker turned professional poker player who started learning the game of poker while attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Varkonyi became an instant celebrity and professional poker palyer with his win of the 2002 World Series of Poker main event, a win that surprised everyone. Phil Hellmuth said at the time that the odds against Robert winning were so high that if he won he'd shave his head. In the end, Robert Varkonyi got a piece of Phil Hellmuth - literally.
