Scott Clements

Scott Clements was born on July 19, 1981, and spent most of his life in Mount Vernon, Washington. As he was working on a career as a mortgage broker, poker made an entrance into his life, and home games turned to online poker, which all culminated in a career as a professional poker player. Clements started playing live tournaments in 2005, primarily no-limit hold’em as it was more prevalent on the circuit, but his specialty remained Omaha. But his first win was in NLHE when he took down a $1K buy-in event at the Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Poker Festival. He experimented with the World Series of Poker that year, but it wasn’t until 2006 that he won his first gold bracelet by taking first place in the $3K buy-in Omaha hi-lo tournament, which also paid $301,175. Several months later, he won the World Poker Tour North American Poker Championships in Canada, which was worth a WPT title and $222,051. Only a few months after that, he final tabled the 2007 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event for more than $151K. Since then, he has accumulated more serious poker credits. He made two WSOP final tables in 2007, one of which brought him a second bracelet for winning the PLO tournament. He won an event at the Legends of Poker in Los Angeles that year, and he went on to win the WPT North American Poker Championships again in 2007, that time for more than $1.5 million. Other victories have included side events at the Five Star World Poker Classic at Bellagio, Wynn Classic, Festa al Lago, and the Southern Poker Championship Main Event in 2010. By the beginning of 2011, he had more than $4.4 million in live tournament earnings to his name.
