Veronica Dabul
Veronica Dabul was born and raised in Argentina, and she seemed to have a knack for gaming from an early age. She took an interest in backgammon that translated into playing competitively on the international circuit, even making it to the World Championship semi-final round in Monte Carlo. And it was through that gaming community that she discovered and ventured into poker. Dabul first made contact with poker online, studying the game and producing a strategy that worked. Discovering that tournaments were her forte, she traveled to the World Series of Poker in 2007 to take her shot at the events there, and she was able to cash in that year’s $10,000 buy-in NLHE Main Event, taking home nearly $40K for her initial investment. She returned the following year and cashed in three tournaments, one of which was again the Main Event. Also in 2008, she began participating in the Latin American Poker Tour events, finishing 16th at the Punta del Este in the tour’s inaugural season, then final tabling an event at the San Jose stop. Though her record shows a win in a 2009 charity event at LAPT Playa Conchal stop, Dabul continues to seek her first major tournament win. Each year, she cashes two or three times at the WSOP, and she plays almost all of the LAPT events around South and Central America. But she also spends a fair amount of time playing online.
