Beverley Kruskol

Beverly Kruskol has been a fixture on the tournament circuit for some time, with consistent major-tournament cash finishes since the year 2000.

Beverly is well-known for her polite demeanor and respectful nature both on and off the table. Mike Sexton recalls an encounter with a police officer that Beverly related to him:

Having pulled her over for speeding, a police officer asked her: "You seem to be in a pretty big hurry. Are you?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I am," said Beverly. "I'm on my way to play in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas and my tournament starts at noon."

A fan of poker himself, the police officer responded: "Would you tell me with your best poker face exactly how fast you think you were going?"

"55?"

Beverly had been doing 91, but the police officer wrote the ticket for only 10 over the speed limit and wished her luck. Sometimes poker pays, even when you're not sitting at the felt.

We give bad beats and we get bad beats, and if we cannot accept that, we should not be playing poker.
