Allen Cunningham

Allen Cunningham started playing poker seriously while working towards a civil engineering degree at UCLA.

Allen started out slow, but got his big break in 1999. It proved to be an incredibly successful year for Alllen when he won six major tournaments, including the prestigious Legends of Poker. With his new-found success Allen decided not to pursue his degree and dropped out of UCLA to play poker professionally.

Cunningham is a 30-year-old professional poker player from Las Vegas, Nevada. He is easily the most accomplished poker player of today’s final nine of the WSOP 2006 main event. Allen has won five WSOP gold bracelets – for Seven-Card Stud in 2001, Deuce-to-Seven Lowball in 2002, No-Limit Hold’em in 2005, another No-Limit Hold’em championship in 2006 and in a Pot Limit Hold'em in 2007.

Allen burst onto the poker scene back in 1998 as one of the young guns – along with Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Layne Flack, John Juanda, and others – who have collectively revolutionized the game of poker with their talent and ambition. A victory today would seal Cunningham’s place as perhaps the greatest player in the game today.
