Juan Carlos Mortensen

Juan Carlos Mortensen burst onto the scene in 2001 when he took three consective 1st place finishes in major tournaments, culiminating with his win of the 32nd annual World Series of Poker main event.

Originally from Spain, Mortensen moved to the U.S. in the late 1990's to pursue his career in poker, bought into the 1999 World Series of Poker by his fellow Spanish players. He only made it about half-way through the field, but ended up making about $50,000 in cash games throughout the next few months. The career had begun.

Known for his loose play and fearless nature, Juan Carlos Mortensen currently has two WSOP bracelets under his belt, in addition to three World Poker Tour titles and the title of WPT World Champion Season 5.
