Neil Scott

In the early 80's Scott was considered to be among the best Draw players in the world. During this period of time he also was an active Gin player living in Miami. In 1984 he captured the Miami/Miami Beach Championship in both Draw and Gin. Later in 1984 he also won the Florida State Championship in 5 Card Draw. In 1985 he won the N.C. State Draw Championship.

Scott however walked away from the felt in 1985 to persue a career in the music industry. He toured professionally for a while but would find his greatest success working as a writer with such artists as Lenny Kravitz and Smashing Pumpkins. He has also been credited with having a major impact on the writing and creative styling's of Kurt Cobain's Nirvana and Seal.

After the breakup with his Fiancée, actress/singer/songwriter Tricia Sheldon, he walked away from his career and formally retired to the mountains.

However in 2003 while vacationing in Las Vegas, Scott was having breakfast with T.J. Cloutier, Dan Alspa and JJ Liu, all of whom were encourageing him to start playing again. In 2004 Scott reemerged, entering his first 3 tournaments in over 19 years. He cashed in all 3. Scott says he still enjoys playing but only on an occasional basis.

If I could change anything in the world: Write and travel.
If I could change anything in the poker world: 1) A better Rating system. Something similar to a batting average, or shooting percentage. 2) The WPT needs to host more events outside of Vegas. States like Or and Wa have big poker sceens but their markets are not being tapped into. B.C. also is emerging, as are Az, Ok and Fl.
