Joanne Telerico

Joanne Telerico left her career in law school education in 2003 to commit to poker full time.

Joanne Telerico
Name: Joanne Telerico
Location: Henderson, NV, United States
Cashes: 6
Total Winnings: $25,829
First Place Finishes: 1
Marital Status: happily re-singled
Children: one very accomplished young man of whom I am shamelessly proud
Started Playing Poker: 2003
Favorite Poker Game: No Limit Hold 'Em, especially tournament play
Ambition: Hmmm. I think I'll keep my chief ambition to myself lest it be misunderstood in the poker world. Other ambitions include growing better and better at poker and finding a way in which I can be involved in making poker better all around, for both the 'hobb
Hobbies: My personal responsibilities have a way of becoming my hobbies. I spend a great deal of time now caring for my elderly mom and trying to keep up with all manner of yardwork. For many years, I travelled a great deal and was an avid reader. I still enjoy
Favorite Movie: Lorenzo's Oil
Favorite Music: classic rock, oldies, 60s, 70s, 80s
Favorite Place: far too many but I have a special love of New Z'land's South Island, esp. Christchurch. Milford Sound
Favorite Celebrity: I'm not much of a celebrity gawker, but I have great admiration for Andre Agassi's philanthropy.
Poker Players I Respect Most: The ones who respect other players. And among the better known ones, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Dan Harrington, Greg Raymer, Howard Lederer
If I could change anything in the world: Wow. This is a big question; so very existential. I guess I would have to say mankind's foolhardiness and lack of foresight. I would eliminate all weaponry, especially chemical and nuclear arsenals. And I would require accountability by everyone - from individuals to entities - for caring for our earth. Finally, I would re-wire our brains so they are incapable of abusing the weakest among us; of violence; of greed; of indifference to each other.
If I could change anything in the poker world: 1.) payout structures too top heavy 2.) egregious sexism - it has no place in a gender-neutral forum such as poker 3.) more aloha spirit among players, organizers, everyone involved in poker. I do like the increasing emphasis on civic and global caring via special poker events
