Assani Fisher

Assani Fisher is a throwback to the cardplayer of yesteryear. A complex fellow with the dexterity of a hyena and the wit of a soothsayer. He brings an intense focus and determination to both the poker table and the game of life.

Assani was born in Palm Spring, CA and grew up in Gaithersburg, MD. His father, George Fisher, was a poker pro and worked as the Director of Poker Operations for Binion's Horseshoe and Casino before passing away in January of 2005.

Assani attended Nyack College in Nyack, NY where he majored in philosophy and played basketball. It was there that Assani discovered poker. He began playing online at first, and became a full time poker pro after graduating in 2004.

Assani had previously enjoyed immense success in the strategy game "onslaughts", and not surprisingly that success carried over to the poker world. Opponents everywhere agreed that his pots were much more icy than the average person's, which earned Assani the nickname of "Icy Pots."

Although extremely proficient in both No Limit Hold Em, Pot Limit Omaha, and Pot Limit Omaha high low Eight or Better, Heads Up Limit Follow the Queens is the game in which Assani is truly considered 'world class.' Many will even go so far as to say that he is the most accomplished HULFTQ player in the world.

In late Summer of 2007, Assani moved to Las Vegas where he currently resides. He continues to play both online(under the screen name of jwvdcw at PokerStars) and live(usually at the Wynn), and whenever you hear the cheer "OH HOT DAMN GIMME DAT ICY POT, YOU SON!" you can be sure that Assani is somewhere nearby.
