Jody BluettJody Rongopamamao Bluett. Born in New Zealand living in Australia and Montreal. Played in a total of 4 live events in the last 2 years and cashed in 3. My husband first introduced me to poker and eventually I got up enough courage to start playing online. I then played some live poker and really enjoyed it so I began watching WPT events on TV as well as reading as many poker books that I could possibly find. After about 2 years on the sideline hubby managed to convince me to start playing some live tournaments. After the first one I found my courage and focus and cashed in the next three. Now hubby and I have a hobby that we share together. My two favorite events that I have played in are The Aussie Millions held in Melbourne, Australia and the Ladies WPT Finals at Foxwoods. Those two venues are my favourites because of the relaxed atmosphere, great shopping, dining and, most important for me, is the spa facilities at both these places. Staff and customer service are impeccable and that's important to me as the less stress I have prior to an event the better I am able to focus. Online I mainly play sit and go tournaments as I find this gives me the best training for the different dynamics at a final table. Each time I sit down in a large tournament I play the table as if it is the final table, changing gears when a player gets knocked out and making the most of the short hand before they fill the seat. The thing I find most difficult with poker is the temptation to go with an emotional reaction, keeping control of this is my main ambition in a game. It's so hard to sit down and force yourself not to play when all you want to do is be involved in a hand so you feel like you are playing. I've recently realized that, even when you are not playing in a hand, that in itself is also playing!
