The Weekly Poker Programming Rundown - US Edition
Versus and Universal HD continue their coverage of the National Heads Up Poker Championship this week, starting at 3.00PM (all times are EST) on VS on Monday August 15th. Shows continue every hour on the hour thereafter, concluding with the final show of the day at 11.00PM.
Be warned, this is TV poker at its most compelling and addictive. For anyone who hasn’t caught it yet (which planet have you been on?), you get to see 64 of the world’s foremost poker players on TV, squaring up to one another in one-on-one matches, slugging it out relentlessly until the overall victor emerges from the casualty-strewn poker battlefield. The poker shows continue on VS at 4.00PM on Tuesday August 16th, 1.00PM on 17th, 10AM, 7.00PM and 10PM on Saturday 20th and at 7.00PM, 10PM and 11.0PM on Sunday 21st. On UHD, you’ll catch shows on Tuesday at 6 and 7.00PM, Thursday 18th at 9 and 10.00PM and at 9.00PM on Saturday 20th.
There’s poker TV gold, too, on NBC at 2.05AM on Monday with one of the week’s poker highlights – Poker After Dark. Players this week are Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Brian Hastings, Patrik Antonius and Phil Galfond. Catch it every night at the same time through to Saturday August 20th to see who comes out on top. There’s a wrap-up of the week’s action on Sunday 21st at 1.01, which includes an interview with the conqueror.
Saturday night, of course, is High Stakes Poker night on GSN, another of the week’s blue-ribbon poker shows. Make sure you’re in a comfortable chair, because you’ll be in it for a few hours. Shows start every hour on the hour from 7.00PM to 11.00PM and big names like Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan are regulars.
