Ross Boatman Final Tables Genting Poker Players' Championship

Ross Boatman impressed his new sponsors on Sunday after running deep for a final table finish in the £150 Genting Poker Players Championship at Birmingham's Star City Casino.

This result followed a mere three days after agreeing a deal with Genting Poker which will see him and his brother Barney, Joe Beevers and Ram Vaswani aka 'The Hendon Mob', represent the popular poker room in online and live tournaments following their recent departure from Full Tilt Poker.

“We are genuinely excited by the opportunity to work with a brand as strong as Genting Poker. The company has made giant strides with its poker product in the last couple of years,” Barney Boatman said in a statement released on Friday.

Ross Boatman outlasted the majority of the 293 strong field to advance to the final session in the second city but the London based pro could not quite close out the victory. Boatman eventually departed in 4th place for a £6,000 share after a six-handed deal was agreed.

Other notable pros who prospered were former GUKPT champion Sunny Chattha and Paul Jackson, who has earned over $1 million during his career. The duo hit the rail in 14th and 6th place, respectively.

David Wall locked up a maiden live tournament triumph on Sunday evening after besting Tim Slater in heads-up play. Jackson, Lee Doran, Boatman, Robin Hogger and Slater all took home £6,000 shares while Wall picked up an extra £660 and the trophy for reigning victorious in the West Midlands.
