2008 United States Poker Championship Schedule Released

Tournament action is getting ready to crank up on the East Coast. Right on the heels of the Borgata Poker Open, which kicks off September 3rd, will be the 2008 United States Poker Championship. The first of 24 USPC events fires up on Sept. 14th, from the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, NJ. The schedule is highlighted by the $9,700 + $300 buy-in Main Event, to take place on October 5th.

New on the schedule are the H.O.S.E event and a mixed Pot Limit Omaha/Hold'em tourney. There is a total of 11 No Limit Hold'em events on tap this year, with the Ladies Only and Seniors Only events accounting for two of them. Just two of the 24 events will cost you more than $500 + $50 to play; Event #14, a $1,000 + $80 NLHE event taking place on Sept. 27th, and the Main Event.

Last year, Adam Gerber of Moorestown, NJ, captured the largest prize of the 2007 USPC, $606,095 for outlasting 163 others in the Main Event. Gerber has just one other cash on his short poker resume; a runner-up finish at a $5,000 buy-in Borgata Poker Open undercard, worth $248,500.

Annie Duke garnered quite a following earlier in the year on another reality show competition, NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.

Isaac Baron Dominates Caesars Classic Main Event
