25 CoSponsors for Online Poker Online Gambling Bill by Barney Frank

While many poker eyes watch the World Series of Poker as the Main event kicks off in Las Vegas tomorrow, Rep. Barney Frank, who is also chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and author of HR 2046, continues his behind the scenes discussions to slowly and steadily build support for his bill.

Online poker and online gambling companies licensed under Frank's bill would be licensed and regulated by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and exempt from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) that became law last October.

Two more sponsors of HR 2046 (otherwise known as the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act or IGREA) were added to the growing roster during June: Representatives Alcee L. Hastings of Florida and Don Young of Alaska.
