41st Sponsor Signs Barney Frank's IGREA Bill to License Online Poker & Online Gambling in USATue, Nov 20th, 2007 @ 12:00am Oregon Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) is the latest congressman to sign on as a co-sponsor for Congressman Barney Frank's HR 2046 Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act (IGREA) bill that seeks to license and regulate online poker and online gambling in the USA in an effort to counter the unpopular Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). Representative Blumenauer has a highly credible career in politics going back to 1972 when he served his first term in the Oregon House of Representatives, and was admitted to the US House of Representatives in 1996.
He now serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the Budget Committee, and the new Select Committee on Energy Independence and Climate change, and is a staunch advocate of issues such as the environment, sustainable development and economic opportunity.
A lawyer by profession, Representative Blumenauer holds law degrees from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. Here are the 41 Congressional co-sponsors of HR 2046 to date: WAS YOUR CONGRESSIONAL REP ON THE ABOVE LIST?
