AsianLogic Buys Asian Poker Tour

In a press release today, newly-listed Asian-facing online gambling operator AsianLogic Limited announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Asian Poker Tour (APT), Asia's original and largest poker tour from Singapore-based Capital Events Pte.

Under the agreement, AsianLogic will now own the Asian Poker brand and web address, providing AsianLogic with access to an extensive database, which will drive additional online traffic to AsianLogic's poker sites. AsianLogic will also manage the running of the APT's online and land-based tournaments.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The announcement noted that APT will launch its own online play for fun and play for real poker rooms on Playtech's iPoker network.

Capital Events will remain a key strategic shareholder in the APT and retain ongoing control and responsibility for poker events in Singapore.

The announcement pointed out that APT has further strengthened its position in Asia with the addition of the Korean Professional Poker Tour (KPPT) as a shareholder and exclusive partner in Korea.
