Beware Bargain WSOP Main Event Poker Seats

Officials for World Series of Poker (WSOP) organizers Harrah's issued a warning Friday about "sensational" discount offers for Main Event WSOP seats circulating on email and instant message, cautioning poker players about the scam.

Discounted seats for the $10,000 buy-in Main Event of the 2007 World Series of Poker this July in Las Vegas have recently been offered from someone claiming to have won the championship seat in a satellite event.

The seller said he cannot play in the tournament and offered his seat for $6,000.

Spokesmen for WSOP organizers Harrah´s, say that pre-registered seats cannot be sold or traded. Nor will Harrah's honor transferred registrations.

Besides, anyone who pre-registered for any event this year can receive a full refund of their payment if they cannot participate, the WSOP statement said.

"Ask yourself this," the warning stresses, "Why would an individual accept $6,000 for a seat he allegedly won when he or she knows they can get the full $10,000 refunded?"
