Bodog Online Poker Campaign Targets ChinaTue, Jan 29th, 2008 @ 12:00am China is not officially open to online poker, but that has not slowed down Bodog Entertainment, who this week announced an agressive Chinese ad campaign and a new Chinese Web page on Bodog Poker to assist its increasing number of Chinese customers. "2008 is a big year for the Chinese and Bodog," Bodog Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre announced. "We want our Chinese customers to know that Bodog has the same Beijing Olympic spirit to achieve the best." The Chinese-language ad campaign, which will run in print and online media, will feature Chinese-Canadian Evelyn Ng, who is a Team Bodog poker pro. Bodog already offers customer service in both Mandarin and Cantonese to its Chinese customers. CHINA IS A HUGE UNTAPPED MARKET China's enormous population represents a huge as yet untapped market for Internet gambling. And companies are already jockeying for position, anticipating when the Chinese government will regulate their online gambling industry (or now serving the clever earlybirds). BODOG THE ONLINE MACAU Bodog Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre is determined to make Bodog the online version of Macau for China, saying: "Stanley Ho watch out! Bodog wants to be known as the Macau of the online world. With the best games, top customer service and the innovation to bring the most exciting entertainment to our Chinese customers, they don't need to look to Macau or Las Vegas. We bring the excitement to them. 2008 is a big year for the Chinese and Bodog. We want our Chinese customers to know that Bodog has the same Beijing Olympic spirit to achieve the best." The new China-facing web landing page can be found at www.bodoglife.com/Chinese .
