Daniel Negreanu Announces Launch of Poker Virtual Training

by PokerPages.com
Thu, May 22nd, 2008 @ 12:00am

Las Vegas, Nevada, Wednesday, May 21, 2008 - Daniel Negreanu reveals the secrets that have led to his $10 million in tournament winnings worldwide. He unveils his sought-after "Small Ball" strategy and opens the rest of his Texas Hold'em playbook for the world to see via the interactive virtual training platform at PokerVT.com.

"For years, people have been asking me about Small Ball and my various cash game strategies," Negreanu said. "I was just waiting for the perfect place to share with everyone, and at PokerVT.com, I can comfortably say that we have set the bar for training sites at an all time high with our depth of content and cutting edge technology."

Poker VT (the "VT" stands for "Virtual Training") is the first poker training platform of its kind. It combines One-on-One virtual lessons with Negreanu and other poker experts; a proprietary virtual training system; and ongoing testing so users can track their progress and improvement over time.

Poker VT is powered by LightSpeed VT, a Las Vegas-based company that invented the proprietary technology that makes the training and testing possible. LightSpeed VT has previously worked with global clients such as EBay, Gold's Gym and General Motors, among many others.

"There's a natural affinity between our technological capabilities and the immense brand cache of Daniel Negreanu," said LightSpeed VT CEO Brad Lea. "Daniel provides his vast poker knowledge and charismatic personality, and we package his poker genius into an exciting, engaging user experience."

The Poker VT user experience also includes a math course by stats guru, Professor Charley Swayne, who has taught seminars on statistics and probability all over the country. And as a nod to the exploding trend of online poker training, we've added to the Poker VT pro team, such stars as Paul Wasicka, Adam Junglen, JC Alvarado, BooostedJ and tournament poker's female phenom, Annette_15. Get inside the minds of the VT Pros as they explain what they're doing and why they're doing it during real action at the tables.

"This is the best instructional product I have ever seen," added Negreanu. "Wait until you see how we used headphones to capture the real-time thoughts of pros and amateurs during actual games, and then watch me go back and analyze their plays and thoughts."

Two additional features are the interactive games like D's Nuts where users can practice and drill until they are able to quickly identify the first, second and third "nuts", and the N-SPAT (Negreanu-Swayne Poker Aptitude Test), a comprehensive test that measures your understanding of the poker math and Negreanu lessons.

All told, Poker VT offers more than 300 interactive training modules at launch and will add new training material regularly; and there's something for all levels of player from beginner to the most advanced.

"This is the kind of resource I wish I'd had first starting out," Negreanu said. "It's like we're sitting across the table from each other, and I'm your personal coach."

Poker VT will be available on a membership basis, 24-hours a day, seven days a week, on any computer that meets minimum technological requirements and is connected to the Internet.
