Deep Stack Extravaganza Returns to Venetian Poker RoomTue, Oct 30th, 2007 @ 3:00am The excitement surrounding The Venetian Poker Room has reached an all-time high with the announcement of the 2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza (DSE) series. The DSE series will encompass two tournaments a year featuring the games players crave including, No Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha 8 or Better, and H.O.R.S.E. The highly anticipated new poker series will debut in the beginning of February and the second tournament will coincide with the world's largest poker tournament in June. The event dates will be announced at a future time. With a significant amount of starting chips, exhilarating daily satellites surrounding each tournament and the chance for players to win big; this is one series not to miss. "We are thrilled to be bringing back the Deep Stack Extravaganza as a full-fledged series with two annual tournaments a year and giving players the opportunity to experience great tournament formats run by a very knowledgeable and friendly staff," stated Kathy Raymond, director of poker operations for The Venetian. "With lower buy-ins, larger chip counts, more play and great blind structures and our luxurious, spacious, and exquisitely decorated poker room, these tournaments are like no other in Vegas." Each event in the DSE series will consist of individual daily tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $300 + 30 with $6,000 in starting chips to $1,000 + 60 with $10,000 in starting chips. The quality and experience of the staff along with the structure of The Venetian tournaments will draw the novice and professional players alike to vie for the big win resulting in exhilarating play. Additionally, daily satellites will be held throughout each tournament in the series giving players an affordable opportunity to participate in any or all of the main events. Winners of the satellites will be given tournament entry lamers that can be used during the Deep Stack tournament or any of the daily tournaments regularly scheduled at The Venetian. Lamars cannot be used for cash play. The February 2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza Series will feature a $2,500 No Limit Hold'em Championship event with $15,000 in starting chips, which will be just one of the many events for poker players to go all in and reveal their skills. Raymond said the Deep Stack Extravaganza I and II held in the first and second quarter of 2007 was extremely successful with The Venetian Poker Room hosting more than 19,000 entrants and featuring a combined total prize pool of more than $10 million. "We received tremendous feedback from the players regarding the Deep Stack tournaments," stated Raymond "With the amount of phone calls and emails we received everyday requesting the return of the tournament, we knew it was only right to bring the tournament back as an annual series." Past Deep Stack Extravaganza events have seen players from all over the world including Australia, Columbia, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Mexico, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The tournament also drew a variety of celebrity poker players including Kenna James, Marsha Wagoner, Frankie O'Dell, Chris Moneymaker, Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher.
