First Korean Champ of Asia Pacific Poker Tour Crowned in Cebu

Another stop on the Asia Pacific Poker Tour is in the books, this time it's the APPT Cebu in the Philippines, and for the very first time a Korean player has come out on top.
With the entire nation of the Philippines still celebrating a Manny Pacquiao win in Las Vegas, those in attendance at the Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa were now pulling for their lone Filipino representative, Mark Pagsuyuin of Manila. Sadly, Pagsuyuin could only maneuver his short-stack to a 6th-place finish. This weekend belonged to Dong-Bin Han.
Han was one of two Korean's at the table, each not only looking to become the first to bring an APPT title home to Korea, but each hoping to become only the 2nd Asian winner ever on the APPT. Sim Somyung, a 25-year-old pro video gamer turned poker player, entered the final table as the chip leader, but would fall one spot short of playing his fellow countryman heads-up for the tile.
Han, a 37-year-old businessman from Seoul, South Korea, was making his first major tournament appearance in Cebu, when he oulasted 318 others to grab the largest chunk of the 29,086,420 PHP prize pool, a cool 7,410,000 PHP ($159,182 USD) by oulasting American David Hilton in heads-up play.

Next up for the APPT will be at the Star City in Sydney for the Grand Final on December 1st.
