First Ultimate Women's Poker Challenge is at Binion'sTue, Jan 30th, 2007 @ 12:00am The first Ultimate Women's Poker Challenge is scheduled for February 9 & 10, 2007 at Binion's in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ultimate Poker Challenge (UPC) is America's number one syndicated poker show, and as with all UPC events, the women's event will be syndicated nationally on local television beginning in March. The Ultimate Women's Poker Challenge event is sponsored and organized by Woman Poker Player Magazine. "This is an excellent opportunity for women to come out and make a name for themselves in poker," said Maryann Morrison, Publisher of Woman Poker Player Magazine. She added, "The Ultimate Women's Poker Challenge, is the only poker event for women that is broadcast across the nation over the past year. Women are growing in the poker field in great numbers and I expect some tough competition in the field." The main tournament starts on Friday, February 9th at 4 p.m. PST. The tournament will run until the final table has been established. The final table will commence on Saturday, February 10th at 4 p.m. Like all UPC tournaments, the final table of the Ultimate Women's Poker Challenge will be televised. Morrison said, "I hope that as many women as possible will come out to show support for the growth of women's poker, and for this unique opportunity presented by the Ultimate Poker Challenge, for a woman to make a name for themselves in poker." The buy in for event is $200 + $35. Binion's Casino will be running satellite single table tournaments starting on Thursday, February 8th.
