Full Tilt Poker to Offer $25K Heads-Up Tournament

Players looking for ways to spend their Full Tilt Online Poker Series winnings, or those just looking to sit down for one-on-one matches with the pros, now have the option of entering the Full Tilt $25K Heads-Up World Championship.

The event will take place on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th, just a week after the FTOPS VIII concludes, and will go down as the most expensive online buy-in tournament in history.

The event kicks off at 3 p.m. EST on the 24th and will be hosted by 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson. Team Full Tilt stars Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer and Jennifer Harman will also be in attendance, while the biggest names in live and online poker are expected to flock to the record setting tournament.

The maximum field size will be 64 players, with 'no byes' rules, so players are encouraged to buy-in early to avoid being refunded. If the field doesn't sell out, the max will drop to 32 or 16 entries, if necessary. If the $25K buy-in is a little steep, Full Tilt is offering a couple of $500+$35 qualifiers at 3 p.m. EST on the 22nd and 23rd.
