Gold and Kardashian Host Celebrity Poker Fundraiser May 17 at Playboy MansionMon, May 12th, 2008 @ 12:00am 2006 World Series of Poker main event winner Jamie Gold and Khloe Kardashian from E!'s show 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' will host the third-annual Celebrity Poker Tournament and Casino Night fundraiser for the Urban Health Institute, at the Playboy Mansion in Beverly Hills California on 6pm Saturday, May 17. Over $50,000 worth of prizes will be awarded to top finishers in the tournament. The Urban Health Institute (UHI) provides direct care, medicine and medical equipment in response to natural and man-made disasters
The buy-in for the tournament is $1,500, which includes general admission; general admission alone costs $500. Other casino-style events will also be available, as well as a silent auction which includes items such as a private poker lesson from Gold. In addition to Playboy Bunnies, in the crowd will be poker pros, Hollywood celebrities, and sports superstars like: the Brunson family (which ones were not specified), Phil Laak, Don Cheadle, Anthony Anderson, Idris Elba, Dondre Whitfield and Salli Richardson Whitfield, Aaron McGruder, Glynn Turman, Claudia Jordan, Tommy Ford, Olivia Brown, Mellyssa Ford, NFLer Antonio Pierce, R&B's Al B. Sure, and Carl Payne, to name but a few! The tournament director is Sam Minutello, the Director of Poker Operations for the One-Eyed Jacks poker room in Sarasota, Florida, as well as being the final table announcer for the WSOP in 2006 and 2007. The poker tournament starts promptly at 6:30 pm. Last year over $50,000 was raised for UHI's health-related programs. Proceeds from this year's event are earmarked for the UHI's monthly health education seminars, quarterly health fairs and the purchase of medical supplies for underserved communities locally and abroad.
