Isabelle "No Mercy" Mercier Leaves PokerStars' Team of Poker ProsMon, Sep 14th, 2009 @ 12:00am Isabelle 'No Mercy' Mercier just announced that she is leaving the PokerStars Team of pro poker players to take on new projects. Her press release announcing the change comes after 5 successful years where she played poker promoting the PokerStars brand at the most prestigious card tables around the world.
During the sponsorship, the famous professional Canadian poker player achieved some great poker victories. Recently at the charity tournament Ante Up for Africa (April 2009) organized in Monaco, she donated all of her 250,000 Euros winnings for the Darfur cause. Isabelle's most recent success (July 2009) was at the Sunday Million online tournament, where she placed 3rd out of 8000 starting players and won US $115,000. Over the past 5 years, Isabelle reached more than forty "money finishes" and won over US $1,000,000 in online and offline tournaments. Mercier, who has her own company, No Mercy Productions (in reference to her nickname as a player) to manage her PR and image, may be leaving the PokerStars pro team, but she is not about to give up her life's passion. The "bluffer" currently has extensive projects, both nationally and internationally in the world of poker. More About Isabelle Mercier Isabelle was born in Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada. She studied law at the University of Montreal. After graduation, she turned down a standard life as a lawyer in order to start a new life in the field of poker. Penniless, she flew to Paris and got a night shift job at the Aviation Club de France (ACF) on the Champs-Elysees, where she quickly climbed her way up to a managerial position at the Poker room. This was not enough for Isabelle who decided to sell everything she owned in order to bankroll herself growing into a fully-fledged professional poker player around the world. In 2004, she hit the jackpot by winning the World Poker Tour (WPT) "Ladies Night II" Tournament, becaming one of the best female poker players in the world. She travelled internationally, playing and living out of her suitcase for 4 years before eventually settling down in Monaco. Isabelle Mercier is now a renowned player and a major influence in the world of poker. Her autobiography: "Profession: Bluffer" published in French with Flammarion, traces back the story of her life.
