Kenna James to Help Kick Off Power, Pickin' and Poker PartyThu, May 22nd, 2008 @ 12:00am The "Power, Pickin' & Poker" party at the Plex featuring Andy Griggs & friends will kick off the Saturday, May 31, with the help of poker pro "Cowboy" Kenna James. The event will take place at the Music City Motorplex at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Other celebrated friends of Grigg's will be there to play in a free Texas Hold'em tournament with WIP Motorplex members. You can look forward to this free tournament every Saturday as part of the Music City Motorplex's racing events for the rest of the 2008 season. Griggs, a national recording artist with number one hits such as "You Won't Ever Be Lonely" and "She's More" and other hits in the top ten that include "If Heaven", "She Thinks She Needs Me", "I Go Crazy" and "Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man", will debut songs from his soon to be released album "The Good Life" on the Montage Music Group label. Griggs has bee touring and just returned from performing at the Orlean's Showroom in Las Vegas. James says he's coming to, "enjoy the ride," as will other poker greats on racing Saturdays after the World Series of Poker. Only celebrity and VIP Motorplex members can participate in the free tournament, which carries a start time of 5:30 p.m. in the Music City Motorplex Concourse Area. The winner of the November tournament wins a trip to Las Vegas and a free seat to play in a qualifying tournament for the World Series of Poker. The National Anthem will be performed by Griggs at 6:15 p.m. CST and the race starts at 6:30. Griggs will also perfomr an unplugged set, with special guest "Cowboy" Kenna James.
