Like Absolute Poker, Could Ultimate Bet have Super-Users?

UltimateBet.com is now the latest site accused of harboring online cheaters. Fingers were pointed at the account with the screen name 'NioNio', after suspicious play was recognized by opponents.

After being hit with a slew of complaints by players, UltimateBet has come out and confirmed possible 'abnormal' play by 'NioNio'. According to Casinowire.com, UltimateBet comfirmed that an independent third-party expert was immediately contacted to review the hand histories of 'NioNio'.

A report by online-casinos.com states thatUltimateBet spokesman is quoted as saying: "The initial findings of our third-party expert confirm that the NioNio account's winning statistics were indeed abnormal, and we have expanded the investigation to look into whether an unfair advantage existed, how such a scheme might have been perpetrated, and whether additional accounts beyond those of NioNio were involved."

The spokesman continued; ""The investigation has proven to be extremely complex and, therefore, has been more extensive and taken much longer than initially expected. We continue to aggressively pursue the matter and will communicate the findings of our full investigation to our regulatory authority and to our customer base as soon as practicable."

Also under investigation is the suspicious deletion of the 'NioNio' account and other accounts that may be involved.

UltimateBet and AbsolutePoker are both run by Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG, which is owned by former Mohawk chief Joe Norton. AbsolutePoker was fined $500,000 by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) in February after an investigation revealed certain accounts were exploiting access to view each players hole cards. AbsolutePoker also had to pony up a hefty security deposit and are now subject to random audits.

The KGC's credibility is at stake. Expect harsh penalties if the allegations hold true, or the KGC could see its licensing powers at risk.
