NETeller Founders Hearing Delayed Again- Poker Players' Funds Still FrozenSat, May 19th, 2007 @ 12:00am The hearing into charges related to online gambling lodged against Neteller founders Stephen Lawrence and John Lefebvre by the US Department of Justice has been delayed again- originally for May 16, it has been delayed this time for another two weeks. The two Canadians were told the matter had been postponed on Wednesday. It is the fifth continuance of the hearing. So the hearing is now slated for the first week in June. Stephen Lawrence and philanthropist John Lefebvre, both former directors of the Isle of Man-based third party payment solution, were arrested January 15, and charged with racketeering and money laundering (click here to read related article). They were each held on $5 million bonds and later released, but are not permitted to travel outside the United States. Since this time, NETeller representatives and the US Department of Justice have claimed that 'around $55 million' owed to US customers has been seized as evidence in the case. On 20 March 2007 NETeller signed agreements with the US Attorneys Office and Navigant which, among other things, outline terms and a timeline under which NETeller will work toward the orderly distribution of the seized funds back to its US customers (click here to read related story). Per the agreements, NETeller anticipated that within the next 75 days it would announce a plan by which the funds will be distributed to US customers. Navigant said they will also provide a report to the USAO on NETeller Group's current financial condition. The NETeller Customer Coalition (NCC) continues to press for information and release of their members' funds, but to date there has been no further announcement or communication about distribution of the funds.
