PartyPoker Battles to Stop Slide in Online Poker RankingsThu, Jan 17th, 2008 @ 12:00am It is no party for PartyGaming's PartyPoker, as their average number of online poker players first fell below those of Full Tilt costing Party the number 2 position that they had held for over a year, and now Party lost their number 3 position to the iPoker Network for the first time ever. Yesterday, the iPoker Network had a 7-day average of 5300 real cash players compared to PartyPoker's average of 5200, reports Poker Scout. Today they are tied at 5300 each. The iPoker Networks includes such poker rooms as: Bet365Poker, Blue Square, CDPoker, Chilipoker, Expekt, PaddyPower, Poker770, Titan, TonyG, and VCPoker. The network has been experiencing growth at a fast pace. Meanwhile, Full Tilt Poker continues to increase their lead over PartyPoker, with over fifteen hundred more cash players on average. Not to make matters worse, the now number 4 ranked PartyPoker at 5300 is not that far ahead of number 5 ranked OnGame Network at 4850, according to today's stats. OnGame licensees include poker rooms such as: bwin, ChanPoker, Hollywood Poker, Interwetten, Mansion Poker, and RedKings. Position loss is not limited only to PartyPoker. Svenska Spel, Sweden's state-supported online poker site lost their 8th position to UltimateBet (who maintains the number 3 spot in support of the North American market). And at 1500 average online players, UltimateBet is in close pursuit of the number 7 position held by Swedish-based Boss Media/International Poker Network (IPN) who has 1720 average players. The battle for players will certainly continue, so return to PokerPages.com to catch the latest online poker standings.
