With the close of Event #6, the Main Event, the first-ever Bodog Poker Open (BPO) is in the books. Nearly 2,000 players turned out for the series, generating nearly $600,000 in prize money.

Bodog chipped in a total of $75,000 to sweeten the deal. An additional $10,000 was added to the prize pools each of the first five events. Another $25,000 was pitched into the main event pool. Winners of each of the five preliminary events also received a seat in the BPO Main Event.

A total of 596 players showed up for the $500 main event alone, creating over $280,000 in prize money. Shawn "phatcat" Luman captured the title of Bodog Poker Open Champion, outlasting a final table that included Jared "TheWacoKidd" Hamby, one of the most feared young players in poker.
