Poker Pro Nick Rainey Sets New Sit&Go World Record: 11K, Goal is 16K
Thu, Apr 9th, 2009 @ 12:00am
Sit & Go specialist and poker pro Nick "Stinko_Mikko" Rainey, has succeeded in breaking the previous world record of number of Sit & Go's played online in one month. On April 7th, Nick completed 11,000 sit & go's in 19 days, surpassing the previous world record of 10,351 played in one month.
What makes Rainey's new record even more impressive is that Nick is limited to sit & go's within a $6-$75 buy-in range, and he was required to play in a minimum of 9-man tournaments or larger.
Rainey has completed the first half of his overall goal to play 16,000 sit & go's in one month and make a profit of $10,000.
Nick started the challenge on March 18th, 2009. As of April 7th, he has earned $6,717 in profits and has played 11,000 sit & go's. The games that he has played the most of are the $7 super turbo (8,221 games), the $14 super turbo (913 games), and the $6 turbo (858 games). He has been grinding through each day, playing sessions that last from 20 to 30 hours each.
After April 12th, Nick will not be allowed to play anymore super turbo sit & go's. Despite the long hours that lay ahead of him, Rainey remains as confident as ever that this goal will be achieved.
Rainey started playing poker while traveling the country as a student athlete and four time All-American at USC. He got his first taste of live poker action and fell in love with the game. In 2003, he started studying Sit & Go's and realized he had found his niche and has been playing them ever since. Nick became a PokerVT pro in 2008, where he specializes in teaching subscribers how to master proper Sit & Go strategy.
