Poland is Closer to Regulating Online Poker Online Gambling

Poland is getting closer to regulating online poker and gambling on the Internet, as eGaming Review noted that reports from Poland suggest that the framework to regulate online gaming and betting will be set up in the second part of this year.
Marek Kapica, Deputy Minister of Finance, stated publicly this week that Poland will have to legalize online gambling, saying, "We cannot control this process anyway and it is better that the budget at least derives some revenues from it."
Poland's Finance Ministry is reportedly preparing the suitable legislative changes for the second half of this year and will send them "to the European Commission within the required notification procedure".
Last year, the Polish press had noted efforts to emulate Italy's regulation of online gambling were underway, after the favorable ruling for online poker and online gambling in the Placanica case by the European Court of Justice (ECoJ) in March 2007 (click here to read related PokerPages article).
