PPA Rallys to Support Washington Online Poker Ban Court Challenge

by PokerPages.com
Mon, May 12th, 2008 @ 12:00am

Lee Rousso, lawyer, former gubernatorial candidate and Poker Players Alliance (PPA) regional director for the state of Washington, finally gets his day in King County Superior Court on May 15 to challenge the constitutionality of a 2006 Washington law making online poker and online gambling a Class C felony, and the Poker Players Alliance is holding a rally immediately afterwards to show its support.

Rousso originally filed the lawsuit on the first day of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, and has gone through an appeal after surviving an attempt to bury him in paperwork during discovery. So he has traveled a long road to get to the hearing.

To support Rousso's case, the Poker Players Alliance is holding a rally outside the King County's Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 - 4th Ave. North, in Kent Washington immediately following the hearing, from 10 to 11:30 AM.

Poker pros Barry Greenstein and Andy Bloch have said they will attend the PPA rally.
