The Asia Pacific Poker Tour Kicks off in August

The Asia Pacific Poker Tour launch event will be August 23rd to 26th at the 5 Star Hyatt Hotel and Casino Manila in the Philippines with the 2nd event scheduled for the 27th to 30th September at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel and Casino in Seoul, South Korea. These are the first major televised tournaments in both of these countries. At least three more events in 2007 are scheduled with the casinos to be named later on in the year.

The Grand Final will be held in the majestic Star City Casino in Sydney, Australia. This AUD6,300 buy-in event

Overseeing PokerStars APPT tournaments will be reknowned tournament director, Danny McDonagh, under whose direction the Aussie Millions earned its reputation as one of the world's best run and most successful tournaments. "Joining the PokerStars APPT is a great opportunity to enable me to continue my work developing poker in the Asia Pacific region," Danny said.

In addition to tournament play, the PokerStars APPT is working in conjuntion with local tourism boards to include a wide range of tourism experiences designed to introduce the players and their partners to some of the incredible beauty and cultural diversity of these exotic locations.
