Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho Hit the Amazing Race Rail

After surviving six legs of the Amazing Race by the skin of their teeth, poker pros Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho were finally eliminated in the CBS reality show's most recently aired episode. Michelle and Ho, the last women standing in the 2008 and 2007 World Series of Poker Main Events, gave reality television fans another chance to watch poker personalities compete away from the felt. Annie Duke garnered quite a following earlier in the year on another reality show competition, NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.

Teammates Michelle and Ho started the seventh leg of the Amazing Race in second place, ahead of four other teams, but Michelle warned against being too complacent. "We've learned from poker that it's really, really easy to get comfortable and get involved in pots that you shouldn't," she said in the episode. "But we're not going to get too comfortable because we know that higher up there's a longer way to fall."

In their final leg of the race, Michelle and Ho had to travel from Dubai to Amsterdam, where they had a choice between two challenges to complete. Their head start didn't end up providing an advantage since all six teams made it onto the same flight to the Netherlands. First they tried the challenge option that required them to hit a high striker carnival game hard enough to ring the bell at the top, then learn a folk dance, and finally eat a salted herring. They gave the high striker several tries but the Race's only all-female duo couldn't get close to hitting it hard enough to ring the bell. They opted to switch tasks and try the golf challenge, which required them to hit a large ball with mallet-like clubs and complete each hole in eight strokes or under. The girls quickly grew frustrated with this task too and decided to give the high striker another chance.

After more than 70 tear-inducing attempts to ring the bell, Michelle and Ho threw in the towel and tried the golf challenge one more time. However, they'd lost valuable time, and with the wind picking up, eventually realized they couldn't complete either challenge. Faced with certain elimination, the teammates decided to quit the race, ending the poker world's latest foray into reality television competition.
