Today PPA Rallys to Support Challenge to Online Poker Ban in Washington StateThu, May 15th, 2008 @ 12:00am Poker players around the Seattle area and the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) are showing their support for the case being heard today challenging the constitutionality of a 2006 Washington state law that made playing online poker a Class C felony, by holding a rally immediately following the hearing outside the King County's Maleng Regional Justice Center, 401 - 4th Ave. North, in Kent Washington, between 10 to 11:30 AM. The law puts online poker on par with charges for child pornography, stalking, drive by shootings, threatening the governor, family abandonment, heroin possession and unauthorized abortions. Persons convicted of a Class C felony face a maximum of 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Lee Rousso, lawyer, former gubernatorial candidate and Poker Players Alliance (PPA) regional director for the state of Washington, originally filed the lawsuit on the first day of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event, and has traveled a long legal road to finally get his day in court. Poker pros Barry Greenstein and Andy Bloch have said they will attend the PPA rally. Read Related Articles:
